ECB cuts euro zone rates in surprise move
Around 375 thousand Irish tracker mortgage holders will benefit from a surprise cut by the ECB in its main lending rate. It has cut the rate by ten points to a new historic low of 0.05 percent. The aim is to encourage lending and boost activity across the Eurozone. Personal Finance Editor at the Irish Independent, Charlie Weston, says it's great news for tracker mortgage holders.
