Efforts to form a new Government move a step closer

Enda Kenny has formally offered Fianna Fáil leader Michael Martin a 'full partnership' government.


The acting Taoiseach Enda Kenny has formally offered Fianna Fáil leader Michael Martin a 'full partnership' government.

The partnership has been offered with Independent TDs.

The offer was made when the two leaders met last night after they both failed in their efforts to be elected Taoiseach.

The proposal will be discussed by TDs from both parties in Leinster House this morning.

Acting Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney says Ireland needs a strong Government and that's what's been offered;
