Elderly Man Dies In West Cork Crash

An elderly man has died following a crash in West Cork last night
The single vehicle collision happened on the N71 between Ballydehob and Bantry just before 10pm
The elderly man was declared dead at the scene while two passengers in the car were treated for minor injuries at the scene
The road has been closed and is expected to remain shut until the early afternoon to allow for a technical examination of the scene
His death comes following yesterday's death of a man in his 70's after the car in which he was a passenger struck a gate post yesterday morning on the Ballyhooley Road The driver of the car a woman, also in her late 70's, is being treated in hospital for serious injuries sustained in the crash
