Elderly woman found dead in Limerick City
A post mortem is due to be carried out today.
78 year old, Rose Hanrahan was found dead in her home at New Road, Thomondgate around 1:30pm yesterday.
Gardaí are treating Ms Hanrahan's death as suspicious, with her home sealed off for forensic examination.
Gardaí say a post mortem carried out by Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis will determine the course of their investigation.
