Bantry Gardaí are investigating an incident, where suspects 'cold called' to an elderly lady's home, uninvited, and made her feel pressurised into paying what's been described as an "extortionate" price for power tools she did not want or need..
The elderly woman, who lives alone, handed over a substantial amount of money for 12 chainsaws, 11 generators, 7 power washers and assorted tools
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have fallen victim to a similar crime to contact their local Garda Station.
Gardaí are also asking listeners to make elderly family members, neighbours or friends aware of the incident and the crime prevention advice from the guards
