ELECTED : Fianna Fail's Michael McGrath, Micheal Martin & Billy Kelleher

Fianna Fail are poised to become the great success story of GE 16

Fianna Fail's Michael McGrath and Micheal Martin have both been elected on the first count in Cork South Central...

Fine Gael's Simon Coveney fell short of reaching the quota and so must wait for the second count to see where the transfers will go

There are tense scenes in both Sinn Fein and Fine Gael in City Hall as it's down to the wire for two candidates.

Sinn Fein's Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire and Fine Gael's Jerry Buttimer are set to battle it out well into the night for the final seat in Cork South Central.

In North Central, Fianna Fail's Billy Kelleher has been deemed elected,  Mick Barry of the Anti Austerity Alliance and Sinn Fein's Jonathan O'Brien all look set to take seats with Labour's Kathleen Lynch facing a tough battle to retain her seat.

It's expected the final seat in the constituency will be fought for between her and Fine Gael's Dara Murphy.
