Eligibility criteria widened for flood funding scheme

The government fund is for small businesses who recently suffered storm damage.
The funding scheme for flooded businesses is set to extend its criteria to include those not subject to commercial rates.
The 5 million euro government fund for small businesses was announced on foot of a spate of storms which flooded a number of towns across the country with some Cork towns being the worst hit.
Today's announcement means that non-rateable businesses are now eligible to apply for funding through the Irish Red Cross.
Concerns have been expressed in recent days that the follow up meeting between government ministers and the insurance industry failed to take place as planned and property owners Leeside are fearful of further flooding.
