Emergency Services Perform River Rescue In City

Emergency services attended the scene of a river rescue in the city yesterday evening.

The alarm was raised around 6pm with reports of a person in the water at Parnell Bridge.

 

Four units of Cork City Fire Brigade as well as Gardaí and the Ambulance Service responded to the call. 

 

One person was removed from the water by the swiftwater rescue team and transfered to hospital for treament.

 

It is the second river rescue in the city in the last week after three people were removed from the water on Friday.
