Cork Fire brigade responded to a forest blaze which broke out in Marloak Wood, Ballymore in the Cobh Area

Emergency services responded to calls yesterday evening following a fire in Cobh.

Cork Fire brigade responded to a forest blaze which broke out in Marloak Wood, Ballymore in the Cobh Area at around half past eight last night, 

No people were said to be injured during the incident and the battle to bring the blaze under control is still ongoing.

It comes as the Department of Agriculture updated their fire risk status from a code orange to red yesterday afternoon.
