Emergency Services take part in crush simulation in Cork

A simulation of a major emergency situation is taking place in the city until 5.30pm this evening.

Around 60 emergency service personnel and volunteer casualties are taking part in a simulated stadium crush.

It's part of an EU funded research project, which uses new technology from smart phone apps, along with twitter analysis, to coordinate and improve the response to a major emergency situation.

Paul Kiernan of Skytek, the software solutions company leading the project, told RedFM News how the simulation will work.
