Emergency Works To Restore Water Treatment At Freemount In North Cork Have Been Completed

The works have been carried out by Irish Water
It follows a fire in an electrical panel at the water treatment facility in Freemount, affecting the water supply of over 3,500 people Leeside.
Water produced at the plant was safely introduced into the network yesterday, and normal supply is expected to return to customers over the weekend.
In the meantime, temporary water stations will remain open to the public in Freemount and the surrounding areas.
However users are being advised to boil the water taken from these stations before use.
Speaking to RedFM News, Neil Smith from Irish Water says people in the area can expect a normal water supply to return soon:
