English Language Teachers To Protest Today

English Language Teachers are protesting today in pursuit of recognition from the department of education.

The trade union Unite says many English Language teachers are on low pay rates and often work on zero hour contracts.

The union claims teachers deserve a fairer share of an industry that's worth €2 billion per year to the Irish economy.

A protest by teachers is happening outside the Department of Education this lunchtime.
