English Market traders express concern over plans to develop city's biggest toilets at Grand Parade entrance

Traders in the English Market have called for plans by Cork City Council to develop a public toilet at it's Grand Parade entrance to be scrapped.
According to the Irish Examiner business owners in the market are unimpressed with plans to spend €10,000 on adapting the former Hilser jewellers building into one of the city's biggest toilets.
The proposal features in a policy document on the provision of public toilets in the city centre which will be presented to a city council meeting tonight.
If given the go ahead the Hilser building on Grand Parade would operate as a supervised toilet from 10am to 8pm six days a week.
Traders have expressed concern about the location of the toilets at the main entrance given it's closeness to businesses that prepare food, delivery, sales and issues with the markets' sewer system.
