Environmental Protection Authority Investigates Bad Smell in Mallow

The EPA has carried out an investigation after receiving complaints in recent weeks about a smell in a North Cork Town.
The Irish Examiner reports that the four complaints were made to the EPA in relation to odours coming from the Dairygold plant in Mallow.
The EPA confirmed the facility has been found to be non-compliant with its licence conditions relating to odours produced recently.
The agency says it has directed Dairygold to address the issue and will monitor their progress.
Dairygold meanwhile says it "has been positively addressing issues relating to its wastewater treatment plant facility in Mallow" and it it is monitoring the situation to help minimise the risk of a repeat.
