EPA calling on Irish Water to speed up water supply improvements in Cork

The utility say they are doing everything they can to complete upgrades at four water supplies in the city and county.
The Environmental Protection Agency is calling on Irish Water to accelerate their work on improving certain water supplies in Cork.
It comes after Schull, Drimoleague and the Cork City Supply on the Lee Road appeared on the EPA's latest Remedial Action List, which identifies areas which may experience problems with the water supply.
The EPA say the public drinking water in these areas is currently safe but they are concerned that if flooding occurred before the works are completed it will have a negative impact on the water supply.
Irish Water say they're doing everything to complete improvements to the water supplies Leeside.
Speaking to RedFM News, Senior Inspector with the Office of Environmental Enforcement Darragh Page says the quality of the drinking water is their priority.
