EU Ban On Selling Of Halogen Lightbulbs Is Here

The ban aims to reduce the carbon footprint caused by lighting

A European wide ban on halogen lightbulbs comes into force today.

The ban aims to reduce the carbon footprint caused by lighting  - which is higher than both aviation and shipping combined.

Stores will no longer be allowed to replace stocks of the bulbs, which are also more expensive to run than the alternative LED models.
