European Award given to CoderDojo
A major European award has been bestowed on one of the Cork men behind the CoderDojo initiative.
Kinsale's Bill Liao was presented with the prestigious European Citizen’s Prize for the coding clubs which have become a worldwide phenomenon.
The voluntary organisation of coding clubs for young people began in 2012 and now has over 1,000 clubs active in 63 countries.
The CoderDojo initiative was co-founded in by Cork city man James Whelton and Kinsale-based Bill Liao.
