European crackdown on speeding happening today

The first ever Europe-wide crackdown on speeding is taking place today. The 24 hour marathon effort will see speed checkpoints across 22 countries until 6 o'clock tomorrow morning. It's being co-ordinated by the European Traffic Police Network. In Cork, 6 people have died on our roads so far this year with 47 fatalities on roads nationwide.
