"Everything Possible Was Done To Prevent Woman Getting Smear Test Results"

That's according to a former Cervical Check helpline employee who has spoken out about her experience
The person who wishes to remain anonymous contacted the Women's Lives Matter campaign group to detail her experience working on the freephone line that opened at the end of April last year to deal with the fallout with the Cervical Check scandal.
Four calls centres including one in Cork were set up to deal with a surge in women seeking smear tests in the wake of the scandal which led to a 22 week wait time for results
In statement issued to RedFM News the HSE acknowledged that while it took some time to reply to all calls, a substantial amount of work was undertaken to ensure all callers were responded to individually.
However speaking to RedFM News, Nikola Barrett from Women's Lives Matter says the former call centre workers' claims paints a damning picture of incompetence:
