Experimental drug trials conducted at Cork mother and baby home

Children at a Cork mother and baby home in the 1960's and 70's were subjected to experimental drug trials The trials were also conducted at 9 other mother-and-baby homes across the country also where at least 290 children were affected. The news comes as mothers who lost babies at the Bessborough mother and baby home in Blackrock have asked to be included in any form of inquiry the Government is now going to order. A memorial service took place outside the home yesterday evening, which the Bessboro mother-and-baby group say is part of a larger campaign. "Christy" was one of the children at the Bessborough home he says has been left very badly scarred after the drugs trials Press PLAY button above to listen to the audio
