Expiring driving licences to be extended
Another extension to driving licences has been announced, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Licences that are due to end over the next four months will have 10 months added to the expiry date.
This will only apply to licences that haven't already been extended.
Junior Transport Minister, Hildegarde Naughton, says people won't receive a new licence - but their existing one will be valid.
"The extension will apply to driving licence that expire from the 1st of July 2021, to the 31st of October 2021, with 10 months added on to the expiry date.
"You don't have anything to do. If you want to check your expiry date you can log on to NDLS.ie and use the expiry date calculator which will show you your new expiry date."
