Extra Speed camera's on roads around Cork County

Drivers in Cork will face an extra 22 new speed cameras on the roads from next Friday.
A 50% expansion of the camera system across the country will see the new units operational to coincide with National Slow Down Day.
According to today's Irish Examiner Gardai reported that safety cameras prevented an estimated 71 deaths between 2011 and 2014.
The Go Safey system costs the State €15m-€16m yearly on average and the revenue is about €7m.
However Gardai say the that although the camera system operated at a financial loss, the human savings were incalculable.
