Failte Ireland says Cork needs to prepare for tourism boost
It says Cork City needs to learn from Dublin's mistakes when it comes to providing tourist accommodation.
The warning follows news last month that plans for a 220 bed hotel on the site of the old tax office on Sullivan's quay are on hold due to an appeal.
The tourism authority say they are working closely with Cork City Council to create a strategy to predict and prepare for tourism growth in the city.
Speaking to RedFM News, Jenny de Saulles from Fáilte Ireland says the strategy is vital to avoiding capacity problems.
