Failte Ireland says cost of new signs worth it

Failte Ireland says the cost of signage for Ireland's Ancient East is worth the investment.
The new signs are the shape of a large spiral wheel and cost an average of €7,500 per sign.
The have been installed in 9 locations across Cork City and county, including Camden Fort Meagher, Youghal Heritage Centre, Cork City Gaol and Shandon Bells.
The new signs highlight other attractions within 60 minutes drive of the sign location, in an effort to encourage tourists to visit other points of interest.
Speaking to RedFM News Programme Co-ordinator for Failte Ireland Rory Dean says cost of the signs will be offset by the benefit to the economy from the extra tourism:
