Fáilte Ireland to travel through West Cork route proposed for Wild Atlantic Way

It's hoped a West Cork peninsula located between Kinsale and Clonakilty will be added to the Wild Atlantic Way.

Representatives from Fáilte Ireland are meeting this week to examine the proposal.

It follows a campaign to get a number of villages on the Seven Heads peninsula included on the tourism trail. 

The entire peninsula has been excluded from the route and the locations which have been bypassed have expressed concern that they're losing out.

Last month Fáilte Ireland agreed to review the route by early 2018 and on Thursday representatives from the tourism body will travel the route to determine its suitability.

Speaking to RedFM News West Cork based Minister of state Jim Daly says there's a number of factors to be considered before new locations are added to the route:
