Families of the Defence Forces are drowning

That's according to the Wives and Partners of the Defence Forces who say they will continue to campaign for better pay and conditions

The group have been highlighting the hardships endured by families of the Defence Forces and say the Minister for Defence does not realise the older generation of the Defence Forces are getting disillusioned over low pay levels.

Minister Kehoe announced a salary increase for post 2013 entrants however older members won't be in receipt of this and the WPDF say longer serving members will continue to leave if the rate of pay isn't going to increase for them.

Speaking to RedFM News Shelley Cotter of the WPDF says Minister Kehoe is in an awful position as the number of members is in freefall
