Farmers demonstrate outside Yara depot in Ringaskiddy

Up to 150 farmers mounted a demonstration at the Yara depot in Ringaskiddy today over the rising price of fertiliser.
The IFA says farmers spent a total of €505 million on fertiliser last year and the continuing price rises along with falling commodity prices are eroding family farm incomes.
IFA President Joe Healy says the rising costs is damaging the competitiveness of Irish and EU agriculture.
He claims that Yara, one of Europe’s leading fertilister manufacturer, has hit farmers with seven price increases since last June...
Speaking to RedFM News Joe Healy says the price hikes are unjustified..
