Farmers Protesting In Bandon Calling on Agriculture Minister To Meet With Them

Farmers have stood down their blockade of the ABP plant in the past half hour.
Minister Michael Creed is in the city today for a series of engagements and farmers in West Cork say he owes them a visit.
Dozens braved the conditions last night and gathered outside the plant with placards and a bonfire calling for better prices for their beef despite the High Court granting an injunction against farmers doing so outside a number of beef factories after action was taken by Dawn Meats and ABP.
This morning some trucks were blocked accessing the plant however normal operation has resumed in Bandon's ABP plant and Gardaí have left the scene as only a few farmers remain in the vicinity to maintain a presence.
Speaking to RedFM News these Cork farmers who attended the protest say everything is against them at the moment but they won't back down and it's high time the Agriculture Minister listened:
