Farmers urged to make safety a top priority
The IFA is urging farmers to think 'safety' - following a rise in the number of people who have lost their lives on Irish farms. 17 people have lost their lives in farming accidents around the country so far this year with four of those fatalities occurring on Cork farms. A National safety conference is underway in Kilkenny today to look at ways to change dangerous behaviours and attitudes on farms. The event, which is being organised by the Health and Safety Authority and Teagasc, will bring together psychologists, workplace safety experts and farmers. The IFA President Eddie Downey says 2014 is proving to be a difficult year. Press PLAY button above to listen to the audio
