Farranree Locals Calling For Garda Presence Following Body Discovery

Locals in Farranree are calling for increased garda presence in the area after the discovery of a woman's body in an apartment on Popham's Road.
The woman in her 30s was found with serious injuries in an apartment on the road and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 40s, who is believed to be from Charleville was arrested at the scene and taken to Mayfield Garda Station for questioning.
A post-mortem examination is being carried out at Cork University Hospital following a preliminary examination of the scene by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster.
Gardai have not yet released the name of the dead women, who was living in Togher on Cork's Southside, until all next of kin have been notified.
Speaking to RedFM News these locals say a lot of elderly people are living in the area and the incident has made them nervous:
