Michael Lynch was jailed for 30 months after he was convicted of pouring boiling water mixed with sugar over Tara Byrd
The father of a young woman who was the victim of a vicious attack at the hands of her boyfriend in July last year says he doesn't believe the 2 year prison sentence imposed on him is tough enough
24 year old Michael Lynch was jailed for 30 months after he was convicted of pouring boiling water mixed with sugar over Tara Byrd, who was four and a half months pregnant at the time, at their home on the Old Youghal Road..
In her evidence Tara says her boyfriend had accused her of looking at another man and warned her after pouring the mixture on her, that if she screamed he would hit her on the head with an iron bar..
She spent 10 days in hospital undergoing skin grafts for third degree burns to her leg
Tara's father Willie Byrd told the Neil Prendeville Show that he's disappointed with the sentence handed down to Michael Lynch
