Fears expressed over noise pollution on proposed Ringaskiddy motorway

It's been claimed that noise levels on the proposed new Ringaskiddy motorway will quadruple in places.

The M28 Steering Group who are opposed to the motorway, which will run from the Jack Lynch Tunnel to Ringaskiddy, say that the plan will have a detrimental impact on the lives of the 10,000 people who live along the route...

Locals in the area have expressed their concerns in relation to road safety, traffic congestion and noise pollution...
They're also worried about compulsory purchase orders of houses in the area and a reduction in the value of homes.

Ger Harrington of the M28 Steering Group told RedFM News that the draft Enviornmental Impact Statement clearly shows that due to the removal of trees to facilitate road widening, residents in Rochestown will be exposed to increased noise levels.
