Fears expressed over synthetic drug use in Cork

Gardai in the city are awaiting toxicology results on 16 year old Michael Cornacchia, which will help to establish if he is the first Irish victim of the synthetic drug U-4.
The teenager was found unresponsive at his home in Deermount on Monday and pronounced dead at the scene.
Tests on a powdered substance found at his home was identified as the synthetic drug U-4 which resembles cocaine.
A teenage boy was subsequently arrested and taken to the Bridewell for questioning about the supply of the synthetic drug, but later released with a file to the DPP.
