Fears expressed that city projects could hit a road block
Works on a number of large scale projects are underway in the city.
Concerns have been expressed that that a number of large scale projects in Cork could run into difficulty due to a lack of sub-contractors.
There are a number of multi-million euro projects underway Leeside including the redevelopment of the former Capitol Cinema site, the new events centre and the redevelopment of Pairic Ui Chaoimh.
It's understood that many local subcontractors downsized or emigrated during the economic downturn which could result in a shortage as these projects progress.
However, Conor O'Connell from the Cork branch of the Construction Industry Federation told RedFM News that they have no immediate labour shortage concerns.
