Fears Of Flooding In Glanmire As The Glashaboy River Continues To Rise

Residents of Meadowbrook Estate fear a repeat of the 2012 flooding
A resident of a Glanmire housing estate says residents are struggling to secure their homes as the level of the Glashaboy River continues to rise
There are concerns the Meadowbrook estate, which has been flooding since 2011, could flood before the weekend.
An €8.5 million flood barrier for the area is not expected to reach construction phase until the end of 2019.
Around 60 homes and a number of businesses were badly damaged in Glanmire in June 2012 when the River Glashaboy burst its banks due to heavy rainfall.
Speaking to RedFM news Meadowbrook resident Anne Walsh says households are finding it almost impossible to get flood insurance
