Fears rail row could worsen

A second day of strike action at Irish rail will take place this Friday between 6-and-9am.
Unions involved in a dispute with Irish Rail management say the row could escalate even further.
Train drivers represented by the NBRU and SIPTU involved in a dispute over payment for post productivity are gearing up for a second day of strike action at Irish rail on Friday which will take place between 6-and-9am and is expected to affect 40,000 commuters for a second time in a fortnight.
General secretary of the NBRU Dermot O’Leary has confirmed that if Friday’s action goes ahead his union will attempt to meet with SIPTU to discuss the next course of action.
Irish Rail has said it's 'available to re-engage' in further talks with unions in a bid to avoid Friday's action and the Workplace Relations Commission is assessing if there's any scope for this.
