Fianna Fail will abstain in confidence motion over Whistleblower controversy
Cork Fianna Fail TD Michael McGrath says the party will abstain in tonight's confidence motion in the Government despite describing the Taoiseach's performance in the Dail on the Garda whistleblower controversy as "incredibly incompetent".
During the debate Enda Kenny appeared to repeatedly contradict what he knew and when, in relation to the controversy.
A special cabinet meeting is scheduled for tomorrow where the terms of reference for the tribunal of inquiry into allegations of a smear campaign against Sgt Maurice McCabe will be discussed.
Deputy Michael McGrath described Enda Kenny's actions as "embarrassing" and he believes his days are numbered however he says while the agreement between the parties is being tested it is not time to walk away.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Deputy Michael McGrath says this is not a game and collapsing the Government will not resolve the issue.
