Figures inflated by 133% in Cork Division breath tests

Those involved with inflating breath test figures by 133% in the Cork City Garda Division, should hold their heads in shame.

That's according to Christina Donnelly who has campaigned for increased road safety since the death of her son Brendan and his friend Lee Salkeld at the hands of a drunk driver in 2009.

Brendan's Law has since been approved by the Cabinet, and the new legislation means drink drivers who cause fatal car crashes, will be banned from the road until they appear in court.

The figures were revealed to the justice committee yesterday by Assistant Commissioner Mick Finn.
