Figures show new fines for non-essential travel abroad had no noticeable effect on the number of people flying through Dublin Airport

Figures from Dublin Airport show there were an average of 2,000 outbound passengers per day last week, the same as the week before.
Traffic during both weeks was down by 94% year-on-year.
Travel Extra editor Eoghan Corry says this shows most people currently flying are likely doing so for essential reasons.
He says fines may have been introduced not because they were needed, but in response to public outrage.
