Financial fallout from Storm Frank Leeside becoming evident

Elsewhere the Taoiseach is to tell insurance providers they must cover homes in areas where new flood defence schemes have been been created.

The cost of repairing roads and infrastructure after Storm Frank is expected to be known in the coming weeks - an assessment report is currently being prepared but it's understood that the final figure will run into tens of millions of euro.

It comes as Midleton and Area Chamber of Commerce and traders are to meet this evening to discuss the damage of devastating floods on the town.

Elsewhere the Taoiseach is to tell insurance providers they must cover homes in areas where new flood defence schemes have been been created.

Enda Kenny's meeting with representatives of the industry today in what he's promised will be a "forthright discussion".

Normally, householders who've been flooded once, can't get flood insurance cover again. 

But the Taoiseach thinks that rule shouldn't apply in areas where flood defences have since been installed:
