Fine Gael Representative Has Defended Cork City's Exclusion From €84 Million Affordable Housing Plan

Concern has been expressed about its omission from Phase 2

The city's housing waiting list has increased after the boundary extension with over 5,500 people now waiting for a house. 

Fine Gael's Jerry Buttimer says while the €84 million second phase doesn't allocate the construction of any new affordable houses to the City, it was prioritised in Phase 1 of the plan.

He also revealed to RedFM News that funding is being released in rounds based on requests from the local authorities themselves.

Speaking to RedFM News, Fine Gael's Jerry Buttimer says Cork is getting the priority it needs with the county receiving the second-biggest allocation for Phase 2 and he says there is more funding to come:
