Firefighters have been fighting the blaze for the last two hours which is on a hillside near a reservoir at Ticknock in Cobh
The alarm was raised shortly before lunchtime after smoke was seen coming from the hillside, units from Cobh and Midleton are at the scene since
Fire Control told RedFM News that the fire is causing a lot of smoke over the hill and has spread across a large section of gorse and woodland however firefighters have the situation under control.
