First Round CAO Offers Out This Morning

Thousands of Cork students will find out today if they have been offered their preferred courses in the first round of the CAO.
58 thousand Leaving cert students received their results last Wednesday, but this year 80,000 CAO applications have been made this year.
The increase has been linked to international students wanting to study in Ireland post Brexit.
The offers are deliverd by post, text and email and the closing date for accepting the offers is the 28th of August.
The CAO is advising students that accepting an offer in Round One will not prevent them from receiving a later offer, for a course higher up on their preference list.
Eddie McGrath from the Institute of Guidance councillors has this advice for students:
