First time buyers in Cork require an average deposit of €34,000
That's according to unpublished figures from the Banking and Payments Federation Ireland
This year has seen an increase in mortgage applications due to the combination of the Government's help to buy scheme and the reduction of deposits by the Central Bank of Ireland to 10%.
The Sunday Times reports €513 million euro of mortgages were approved in January, an increase of 59%.
