Fishermen in Castletownbere instrumental in new programme to collect waste from Irish seas

Fishermen in a West Cork town are leading the way with a new litter initiative aimed at cleaning up Irish waters.
The BIM 'Fishing for Litter' programme is being rolled out in three Cork coastal towns; Castletownbere, Kinsale, and Union Hall.

Castletownbere fisherman and vessel owner Paddy O'Sullivan is one of the fishermen in the port taking part in the programme and he told RedFM News that everyone is getting involved.
Chief Executive Officer of BIM Jim O'Toole echoed these sentiments and speaking to RedFM News he says it's already proving to be very successful in Castletownbere:
