Four crew rescued following fire onboard fishing trawler near the Kinsale gas field

Coastguard rescue rescue helicopter R117 was deployed from Waterford after the four crew abandoned their boat and got into a life raft in the early hours of this morning.
The gas field is currently being de-commissioned and the four crew were quickly recovered by the MV Vos Pathfinder while the crew of the MV Maersk Maker used its fire fighting equipment to tackle the blaze.
The Irish Naval vessel LE George Bernard Shaw and Courtmacsherry RNLI also arrived on the scene.
The volunteer lifeboat crew took the four crew on board and brought them back to shore.
