Five rescued off West Cork coast

The Courtmacsherry lifeboat was called after a speed boat started to take on water.

Five people were rescued off the West Cork coast yesterday evening after a speedboat got into difficulty.

The Courtmacsherrylifeboat was called after the speed boat started to take on water and was at risk of sinking in gusty conditions just before 7pm yesterday evening.

All those on board the speedboat, including a child, were rescued before the lifeboat crew towed the 22 foot speedboat to the Courtmacsherry Pier.
