Five shows or none at all says Garth Brooks

It is feared Ireland's international reputation is being damaged by the controversy surrounding the Garth Brooks concerts. It comes after Garth Brooks issued an ultimatum in response to a decision to block two of his concerts in Dublin saying he will play five concerts or none at all. The country singer said it would be impossible to choose which shows to do - and compared the situation to being forced to chose one child over another. Alternative venues around the country that had been mooted to host the concerts, including Páirc Uí Chaoimh here in Cork, have been dismissed as there is not enough time for a license application. Promoter Peter Aiken has also said the Croke Park concerts are a one-off event and the customised productions cannot be replicated anywhere else.
