Flood Alert issued for this evening
A flood alert has been issued for Cork city for this evening Householders and businesses are being warned to take precautionary measures. A combination of a tidal surge at around 5pm, southerly winds, low pressure and a high Spring Tide are expected to leads to tidal flooding later. Low lying areas of the city centre are most at risk including the quays, South Mall and South Terrace The City Council says the main impact is expected to be on evening rush hour traffic in the city.
