Flooding back in the spotlight Leeside
The spotlight is once again back on flooding Leeside amid fears that the Lower Lee Flood Relief scheme is going to create more problems than it solves.
A group campaigning against the proposed €150 million project says there's fundamental flaws with the plans and as well as turning the city into a large storm drain, the frontage of the quays will be destroyed.
The Save Cork City campaign are organising a human chain protest on Sullivan’s Quay and at Fitzgerald’s Park this Saturday to raise awareness of the issue.
Meanwhile traders in Midleton were on high alert last night after a flood warning was issued and have called for the speedy delivery of their flood relief scheme.
